About Me

I am Sarah, a Homeschool Group Consultant with 18 years of homeschool experience.

Hi, I’m Sarah McCubbin—a mom of nine through birth and adoption, and an education trailblazer who has spent nearly two decades navigating every kind of school model you can imagine.

From homeschooling and co-ops to charter schools, early college, private programs, and public education—I’ve walked the road most parents are just beginning to explore. Along the way, I led homeschool groups, directed co-ops, and pivoted our education plan nearly every year to meet the real-world needs of our diverse and dynamic family.

SchoolMaking was born out of that lived experience and a deep conviction: that learning should be personal, purposeful, and people-centered. I created this platform to help families and education entrepreneurs think differently about how kids learn best—whether that’s through homeschooling, micro-schools, innovative co-ops, or hybrid learning models. At its heart, SchoolMaking is about reclaiming education and building learning environments that actually work for your kids and your life.

Today, I work as a consultant to help homeschool leaders, startup founders, and curious parents design better educational options. Whether you need a one-on-one consultation, help launching a co-op, support for navigating burnout, or strategic guidance for your education business, I offer practical insight through individual sessions, group trainings, and in-depth bootcamps. If you’re ready to build something different, I’m here to help you make it happen.
